PERSEUS (FP7) - Negotiation

Objectives:

Identify multiscale interacting  patterns of natural and human-made pressures on the Med and Black Sea marine ecosystems and assess their effects through well-coordinated research and socio-economic analysis;

Develop tools to evaluate environmental status based on existing and upgraded monitoring and modeling capabilities;

Provide scientific rationale for basin-wide promotion of the principles and objectives put forward in the MSFD. Foster international scientific cooperation;

Develop scenarios for environmental status in the decadal scale (to reach of the GES for 2020);

Develop a framework for the future implementation of adaptive policies and management schemes.
