Description:	The scientific-industrial center SAKNAPIRDATSVA, was founded in 1981 and includes scientific, design and construction organizations. Since 1981 a new stage commenced in the field of coastal protection against erosion. The restoration of the self regulation of morphodynamical processes in the coastal zone was laid in the basis of activities of SAKNAPIRDATSVA. (i.e. artificial nourishment of the coast by means of beach forming material). The center restored beaches of 110 km length with total area of 140 km in Batumi, Makhinjauri, Chakvi, Kobuleti, Poti, Ochamchire, Sokhumi, Gudauta, Bichvinta, Gagra and others. SAKNAPIRDATSVA has studied the hydrological regime of the Black Sea basin rivers as well. The long-term general scheme of coast protection was drawn up.
